Special tour Kathin ceremony 2024
Kathin ceremony
It is a Buddhist tradition that has existed since the Buddha's time. The Lord Buddha decreed that monks have new robes to use, which Thai Buddhists like to do after the end of Buddhist Lent. It is scheduled for 1 month after the end of Buddhist Lent. That is, from the 1st day of the waning moon of the 11th month to the 15th day of the waxing moon of the 12th month, Kathin robes will be offered to monks who have completed 3 months of Buddhist Lent. It is a beautiful tradition that has been passed down for a long time. It reflects the faith, unity, and way of life of Thai Buddhists. On the day of the Kathin ceremony, there will be a procession of Kathin robes and merit-making offerings to the temple, with Buddhists joining in the procession with faith. When arriving at the temple, there will be a ceremony to offer Kathin robes to the monks. There will be prayers and sermons. After that, alms will be distributed to those attending the event.
